Is a non-profit organization open to all Shorinjiryu Yudansha
The mission of the alliance is to preserve, under one body, the teachings, history, philosophy and techniques of the Kaiso Kori Hisataka lineage. This is done through the development of a healthy mindful practice of Shorinjiryu Karatedo, and utilizing a common platform of known katas and techniques.
The World Alliance of Shorinjiryu Karatedo (WASK) was formed by a group of senior ranked and titled Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karateka that are heads of national organizations around the world.
The individuals agreed that the future and present direction of Shorinjiryu Karate-do should be on a path true to the fundamental underpinnings of Karatedo. One that develops not only a utilitarian approach to Budo but a way based on personal growth in Virtue, Mindfulness and Wisdom.
The World Alliance of Shorinjiryu Karatedo (WASK) is committed to providing a martial art, sport, and educational environment in which all members; teachers, instructors, officials, coaches, athletes, and students; are treated with respect and dignity.
We believe our members have the right to participate in an environment that promotes equal opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices. Consequently, all members are expected to treat each other fairly, regardless of race, gender, place of origin, sexual orientation, religion, political beliefs, or economic status.
